Obsidian Expeditions is a Commercial Use Authorization (CUA) holder of the National Park Service. As an authorized CUA, we have acquired federal, state, and local permits and licenses to provide road-based tours in Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks. We have agreed to operate in compliance with all applicable federal, state, and municipal laws and regulations; this includes, without limitation, all applicable park area policies, procedures, and regulations – this consists of the submission and approval of a COVID-19 Operating Plan describing the breadth and depth of the social distancing measures we will implement during our tours to minimize the risk of COVID-19 transmission in our vehicles and indoor areas, as well as the procedures used to sanitize gear and equipment and vehicles used to transport guides and guest.
With direct guidance from the Town of Jackson, Teton County, the State of Wyoming, and the National Park Service, Obsidian is committed to protecting the health and safety of our guides, guests, and our partners who live, work, and play in the gateway communities of the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem. Our policies concerning guest check-in procedures, avoiding crowds, social distancing, wearing face coverings when social distancing is not possible, and our gear, equipment, and vehicle sanitizing reflect the best practices recommended by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) for stopping the spread of infectious diseases. Adjustments to our operations may be necessary in response to the COVID-19 pandemic as situations change.
