I was so impressed by our guide this week that I know I'll be recommending Obsidian Expeditions to all my friends and family. I've been to Jackson five or six times to ski, some backcountry touring and sight-seeing on my own but I was with a few low-energy friends this past week so I got to do the tourist thing with them. It was such as a treat to catch a huge pack of wolves stalking elk and check out a local deli I've never visited before. I knew Stacy has been a long-time resident in Jackson, has a passion for the outdoors and local history but it's also so obvious that he's a well-respected community member who truly cares about the welfare of Jackson's citizens - human and otherwise. We had an amazing day! Our drive through Teton early morning set is up for an amazing day in Yellowstone. Our guide Ted was on time, fully prepared and EXTREMELY professional, knowledgeable, friendly, and fun! He is also an excellent photographer! We saw the sites, heard the stories, and saw bison, elk, and a grizzly mama with her two cubs! This was well worth the price. We were so tired at the end of the day that having a driver to get us back to our hotel was priceless! We recommend!!!!

Since I love animal safaris, I have to say we hit the “mother lode” by seeing all the major animals in the Grand Teton area. From a fabulous bull moose to an enchanting beaver who loved preforming for an audience, we saw everything I had hoped to see. The transportation was fantastic and pristine; the food provided excellent, and the communications outstanding.

Best guided tour we've ever attended!! Stace was absolutely amazing. He picked us up directly from our dome. Spent the entire day seeing the sites of Yellowstone. His knowledge is second to none. Perfect balance of driving and stopping to see sights. Had a delicious sandwich at a nice picnic area. Dropped us off at our dome at the end of the day and truly felt the tour was worth the expense. We could have never seen so much or learned so much in one day on our own. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

Stacy (the owner) is a GREAT communicator and did an excellent job planning a private tour for our family that included 2 teenagers and 2 senior citizens. And Sarah was a fantastic tour guide! She picked us up from our VRBO in Alta and spent the day showing us all the highlights of the Grand Tetons. She was super friendly and very knowledgeable, and just a joy to spend the day with! She went above and beyond to do some extra research on questions we'd asked, and emailed us more information along with pictures she had taken during the day. 🙂 Highly recommend!

We just went on 2 tours with Obsidian. Day tour of Yellowstone and Teton Sunset tour Well worth every penny. The owner Stacy was fantastic to work with, even with short notice of adding the sunset tour, on which we saw multiple bison and moose up close (but safely) plus Herons and Pelicans. Sunset was spectacular. Highly highly recommend Obsidian.

Alexandra/Lexi was our tour guide. She was prompt when picking us up at our hotel, Lake Yellowstone. She was the best, we saw Old Faithful and the Geyser basin, the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone, upper and lower falls, Mud Volcano and the Grand Prismatic Hot Spring; there was more but I have forgotten the name. If it was too crowded; she dropped us off at the entrance; explained where and what we would see; then she was there at the entrance to pick us up. She answered our questions about the area and explained how Yellowstone was created. I would recommend using Obsidian and asking for Lexi.

My wife and I had an amazing experience during our 3-day tour. Stacy is such a knowledgeable, considerate and engaging guide. We definitely learned and saw so much more in the 2 parks than we ever would have on our own. Our large family of 12 people from the ages of 7 to 70 did the full Yellowstone private tour in June 2024. It was a wonderful experience, customized for our group. Stacy was our guide. He was very accommodating, and we learned SO MUCH about Yellowstone’s history and sights. Obsidian Expeditions is a wonderfully professional, flexible, and well-prepared company. This was our first time out west so we decided to book an “All Day Yellowstone tour”and I’m so glad we did. Shane our obsidian expeditions tour guide picked us up from our resort with a private roomy SUV. We stayed in Jackson Hole and traveled through the Grand Tetons into Yellowstone..The tour was never rushed. Shane gave us so many options at every stop to make it truly a personalized tour. By the end of the trip we had incorporated Shane into our family. We were in awe of so much beauty of the Yellowstone mountains that all we could say all day was WOW. If you are ever on the fence of booking an all day yellow stone tour just do it you will not regret it.

We had an incredible time with Stace. He was a wealth of knowledge about all things Yellowstone and kept my 10 and 12 year old kids totally engaged for 12 hours. We would never have been able to cover all of the things we saw and learned about on our own. In the first hour we saw a herd of bison. Stace showed us and explained everything from animals and trees down to how Yellowstone got its name. The kids were smitten with his stories. We will never forget this day from dawn to dusk!!!

After making Stacy crazy with my requests for more time out of the car, we had a great day with Lexi that combined all the sites with three hikes during our long day. Lexi was able to get us in and out of parking lots like a pro and to explain about all the geothermal sights along the way. Lunch and breakfast were extra bonuses. Highly recommend this tour for anyone visiting Jackson with limited time. Our family had a GREAT day.

We had a fabulous day tour of Yellowstone with Stacy as our guide. We were a group of six seniors and he did a great job of pacing our day accordingly. His knowledge and passion of the park was infecting. Most of us had been to the park before but all came away with new knowledge and a greater appreciation of this national treasure.
